Art Talk with Interior Designer John Willey
When I first moved in last year, I wanted the place to have a lofty feel. I call attention to the height of the space with wood grain patterned ceilings, and painted beams. I wallpapered each room uniquely to bring tactile qualities to each, from cork to suede accents to grass cloth. Since I work with furnishings all the time, I wanted the space to feel uncluttered and elegant. There is a sweeping view of Brooklyn, all the way out to the Statue of Liberty and beyond, and the light is incredible. I keep it personal with art and photography collected locally and from my travels.
