Interview with Featured Artist Jerry Blackman
INTERVIEW WITH FEATURED ARTIST JERRY BLACKMAN
recently featured in the KiptonART exhibition Spring Has Sprung
At what age did you know you were an artist? What was the first work of art you created?
Ever since my early childhood I was drawing. My parents encouraged me from an early age, and I studied art throughout my education career. The first piece I remember creating was a sort of comic book called "Mr. Man". I must have been about six. He wore a fedora and was very tough: deep stuff. I suppose I had my first "AH-HA!" moment in high school. I would literally set up a studio with colored pencils and pens in all my classes and draw non-stop through the 8-period day. Read more...

KiptonART Featured Artist Interview with Julie Combal
Interview with Featured Artist Julie Combal
At what age did you know you were an artist?
I'm not really sure at what age I thought of myself as an artist. I always knew I loved to draw, paint and create. But my earliest claim to fame was when I was about two, and one of my drawings was published in Sesame Street Magazine.
What was the first work of art you created?
I think maybe I was too young to remember. There must have been rough sketches before the Sesame Street drawing. Read more here...
