KiptonART Featured Artist: Michael Rollins
This is a difficult question for me because my parents are on my mind right now. My dad just had a stroke and was paralyzed down the entire left side of his body. That's made me think a lot about what I do every day - and I'm inspired by that situation. I've also been watching the Olympics because I've always been inspired by competition. Making art is not competitive for me, because it's a personal endeavor, but I enjoy seeing the euphoria on the faces of people who win a medal. I see how happy they are when they experience that moment when they realize they've achieved their goal - it's a different sensation for me, but that's the kind of feeling I have when I understand that a painting is complete.
