Edwin Olaf's new exhibition Hotel, Dusk and Dawn currently at the Hasted Hunt Kraeutler Gallery in New York features work from his new series. Nothing short of romantic with an aire of disconnect, his carefully sculpted photographs touch on a dream like state constructed by the photographer. The statuesque quality of the photographs' models portray a somewhat "cut and paste" effect, where they stand out beyond their environment. The play between light and dark serves a similar purpose, heightening the dramatic sense of mystery present throughout.
Hotel, Dusk and Dawn is open through March 20th, 2010 at the Hasted Hunt Kraeutler Gallery, 537 West 24th Street, New York, NY. Read KiptonART's recent interview with Hasted Hunt Kraeutler here with owners Joseph Kraeutler, Sarah Hasted and Bill Hunt.
