Day 2: Miami Art Basel 2009 Coverage, Friday December 4th

KiptonART Foundation and Whitewall Magazine joined forces with New York king party promoter Patrick Duffy to host a late night special performance of 'The Box' at Nikki Beach Miami.  For Basel, 'The Box' temporarily moved to Miami and turned Nikki Beach into a racy burlesque club. Other hosts included Michael Klug, George Wayne of Vanity Fair, Marlborough Gallery's Marcia LevineMatthu PlacekScott BuccheitStephanie Newhouse and Thomas Rom. Fashionable Michelle Herbert danced to the smooth beats, while friend Pierre Leval of the Marlborough Gallery took in the atmosphere. Annabel Vartanian looked on with fellow guests as acts mystified (a man balancing upside-down on stilts), amused (a drag cowboy performance that involved hula-hoops) and shocked (what can only be described as a dancing vagina, using a prop tongue to teach us how to, um, use it properly). Over 400 people attending with a massive line outside of hopefuls trying to make it into the event.
