"THE MAKING OF ART" addresses the complex world of contemporary art. This exhibition offers a look at the web of relationships created within Contemporary Art. The triangle of artwork, viewer and artist has been expanded in many ways and with that the relationships between artists, dealers, critics etc. effect the content of the work. In a large survey from the 1960's to the present, this exhibition presents the positions of many artists, including Tracey Emin, Jean-Michel Basquiat, Joseph Beuys and Louise Lawler. This exhibit features approximately 150 paintings, drawings, objects, installations and videos. It addresses the current state of the complexity that guides the art world. The show will run May 29th through August 30th 2009 at Schirn Kunsthalle, Frankfurt. Above, Tracey Emin, I've Got it All, 2000
